It’s been a busy year for Spacelift — and the excitement continues right to the end of 2024! We’re delighted to announce that leading industry analyst firm Intellyx has just revealed we’ve won the Winter 2024 Intellyx Digital Innovator Award, crowning a year of achievement for Spacelift. Just what impressed Intellyx? Here are some of the innovations we were proud to launch in 2024:
In the past eight months alone, we’ve released new functionality in the following areas.

Ansible
In November, we announced the latest enhancement to our Ansible functionality that addresses key challenges with Ansible and configuration management:
- Running Ansible playbooks in very large environments
- Connecting provisioning and configuration management to deliver a smooth workflow across all your pipelines
Our new Ansible functionality gives you easy visibility into everything happening with your hosts. Spacelift now features:
- Enhanced playbook automation
- Inventory observability
- Playbook run insights
- Better integration of IaC & Ansible workflows
- Infrastructure self-service for developers.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Safeguarding the security and compliance of your infrastructure is vital for protecting your organization’s sensitive information and maintaining both operational integrity and business continuity. Spacelift prioritizes security, focusing on security-related features to ensure the robustness of your infrastructure management.
In August, we announced an extra layer of security with multi-factor authentication (MFA) for enterprise accounts. With MFA, a password alone is not enough to give somebody access to your account; they will need a second form of verification. It means that your Spacelift account is protected even if your Identity Provider (IdP) is compromised.
The Dashboard
A huge challenge for many infrastructure managers is getting real-time insights into just what’s going on with their infrastructure. Spacelift’s new dashboard delivers enhanced visibility for your infrastructure and what’s happening in your Spacelift account. The Dashboard is a homepage you can customize to give you an immediate overview of your account and the status of your infrastructure. Observe everything happening in Spacelift from a single pane of glass.
The Kubernetes Operator
With the Kubernetes Operator, developers can swiftly provision, configure, and manage their infrastructure without ever leaving Kubernetes. Here’s what they can do with the operator:
- Create and update stacks
- Create/pull status updates for runs
- Create and update Spaces
- Create and update Contexts
- Create and update policies

The Policy Library
One of the key attractions of Open Policy Agent is the ability it gives organizations to codify security and compliance requirements into policies that can be enforced automatically across all its systems. However, the Rego language it uses for policy authoring works very differently to most other languages and offers a steep learning curve.
Enter the Policy Library: It enables you to import customizable templates as regular policies directly inside your Spacelift account without ever having to write Rego from scratch. Spacelift accounts now offer an option called “Templates” in the Policies tab, where you will find a collection of modifiable templates to make your policy creation easier and more efficient.
