Frequently Asked Questions

General Pricing Questions

  • In what currency is Spacelift priced?

Spacelift is priced in United States Dollars (USD).

  • What forms of payment are acceptable?

We accept payment in various forms depending on the type of plan you choose. For example, the Cloud Plan can be paid for via a credit card and a charge for the subscription is made monthly. For an Enterprise Plan, payment can be made in two ways; either via purchase order and invoice or with a credit card on a monthly or annual basis. Spacelift can also be purchased and paid via the AWS marketplace. See additional information below.

  • Could you define what a worker is and how they figure into Spacelift licensing?

A worker is a predefined set of compute resources that are specifically optimized for the development, and provisioning and deployment of cloud-based infrastructures based on IaC. Spacelift provides two types of workers: public and private. Free and Cloud both provide access to public workers. Enterprise supports private workers as well as providing access to public workers.

  • You mention public and private workers, what is the difference between the two types?

Public workers are a type of worker that is provided and managed by Spacelift in a common secure worker pool. Each customer run is executed in its own isolated container instance. Although the underlying compute resources within the public worker pool are shared, runs do not have any access to the source or state of other accounts.

Private workers are a type of worker that are provided and managed by Spacelift, but are hosted as a customer managed asset within their private cloud environment. They are securely connected to the Spacelift application for provisioning and management.

  • Can I adjust my license count during the term of the subscription?

While the license count of an annual subscription cannot be lowered if license usage is less than anticipated, please contact sales@spacelift.io and we will be happy to work with you. If you are uncertain at the beginning of the contract about how many licenses you need, we recommend that you start with the default number and purchase additional seats or workers as required. Another option is to start with a monthly contract and convert to an annual subscription.

  • Does Spacelift provide customers with a multi-year option for subscriptions?

Yes, both Cloud and Enterprise plans can be purchased as multi-year subscriptions. Please reach out to the Spacelift Sales team at sales@spacelift.io to discuss multi-year agreements.

  • Are there partners or integrators that we can contact to purchase a subscription for Spacelift?

Yes, please reach out to the Spacelift Sales team at sales@spacelift.io for more information.

  • Do you offer pricing options for Government and non-profit organizations?

Yes, we offer pricing options for government and non-profit organizations, please reach out to the Spacelift sales team at sales@spacelift.io.

  • What are the licensing models used for each plan?

The Free plan includes 2 seats and 1 run concurrency on public workers per account.

Cloud Plan is a monthly subscription delivered as SaaS and includes 5 seats and a run concurrency of 2 on public workers. This plan can be supplemented with additional seats and/or workers as required, at an additional cost.

Enterprise Plan is offered either on a monthly basis or as an annual commitment.

Cloud Plan

  • How does a Cloud Plan subscription work?

The Cloud plan is a monthly subscription. It is electronically invoiced and payment is done via credit card.

  • Can the Cloud plan subscription be paid for annually?

Yes, a Cloud plan subscription can be paid for annually. Payment would be made at the beginning of the term.

  • Can I cancel the Cloud plan at any time after the subscription starts?

Yes you can cancel the Cloud plan at any time after you start the subscription. When a plan is cancelled it will be valid until 11:59 pm EST the last day of the month in which it was cancelled.

Enterprise Plan

  • How does an Enterprise Plan subscription work?

The Enterprise Plan is offered either on a monthly basis or as an annual 12 month commitment. In cases where a Proof of Concept is run, no further setup is required as the evaluation license is converted to a full license.

  • Is the Spacelift Enterprise Plan available through the Amazon Marketplace?

Spacelift is listed and available for purchase through the Amazon Marketplace under the SaaS product category. You can access the Spacelift page on Amazon Marketplace here.

  • Can we use our Amazon Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) credits to pay for Spacelift?

Yes, EDP can be applied as payment of a Spacelift SaaS subscription up to 50% of the annual total cost, and the balance is paid directly by your company. EDP credits are applied monthly per Amazon policies.

  • Can I cancel the Enterprise Plan?
